The Hub Bay Area Incubator has selected its Spring 2011 cohort of social enterprises, including San + Co, founded by Northwestern masters graduate Swapnil Chaturvedi, with a management team rounded out by Josh Engel and Bryan Lee, both MBA graduates from the Kellogg School of Management.
San + Co’s “poop to power” operation allows the company to distribute toilets to impoverished urban areas, collect the waste, and process that waste into organic fertilizer, and get this…electricity.
San + Co believes that “waste is a terrible thing to waste.” So true. At least these investors thought so.
